Adrián Marko
Photographer… When I was a little boy, I have never for a second thought, that this would be a word that will one day describe me. But it does and I feel lucky to say so. Even luckier to be described as a photographer in the European paradise – on the island called Gran Canaria!
My path to photography was not direct at all. In fact, it was full of turns and stops. For 15 years, I have been working in the event industry not only in Slovakia, which is my home country but also in Greece, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. I have experience with not only organizing and managing events, both small national and mid-sized international but also with being a moderator. My wide experience in the event industry led me to become a co-owner of a Czechoslovak photobooth project Printerka. And right there next to the photobooths, my photographer life started. I realized that with the camera in my hands, I can capture the moments and the emotions and turn them into lifelong memories that will never fade away. And I fell in love with being a photographer.
In photography, I found my passion, I found something that I really enjoyed doing. At that moment, there was only one last big step missing from starting the project called Shot by Polo. Leaving my full-time job in Slovakia and moving to Gran Canaria. The step that people are usually afraid of. But let me tell you something – it led me to the best times of my life.
Let me invite you to pose in front of my camera in Gran Canaria so that you can remember these Canarian days for the rest of your life!
